CONGRATULATIONS NORSEMEN!
Once again Congratulations on a fine season boys. Everyone counted us out and instead we fought back with a District Title and another Conference Championship, making it 6 in a row, and having the second best season in North Muskegon Boys Soccer history with a 16-6-1 season! We are all really proud of you boys!
I apologize to all of the parents for not having the banquet information sooner, but I did not have all the final details until yesterday. All of the boys were told a couple of times, including the last practice where the turned in all of their equipment, that the banquet would not be held on the wednesday of November 7 that we had previosly scheduled, but sometime the second week after the State-Finals.
This year Tom Minter of the MHSAA and Dave Bachhurst of the MHSSCA asked if I would accept a District and Regional chair position for our district and region. I also was on the selection committee for the All-State selection. These meetings have had me going back up to Suttons Bay, Detroit, Lansing, and Grand Rapids. These meetings finally concluded this past sunday. When I made the schedule for the season, with the banquet on the schedule, I had no idea that I was going to be involved with all of these meetings.
Also, with us having a very successful season, comes a few individual awards to the players. Some of these awards I have not yet received. I do not like having a banquet when I don't have any awards to pass out. We also had to make catoring arrangements and find a way to make it affordable to all families. At last years banquet, almost all the players and parents wanted to continue having the banquets catored, so we will honor their wishes with a nice banquet at Main Street.
As for the day, all of the kids agreed that a Sunday evening would work out the best so that all players are able to attend. In years past, we have had winter sport, drivers training and kids working after school to work around, and even with our best efforts we still came up missing a couple of players. This year everyone said that they could make a Sunday banquet.
IMPORTANT TIME CHANGE TO THE BANQUET
IT WILL BE HELD FROM 5:30-7:30pm INSTEAD OF 6:30-8:30pm
WE HAVE SOME PLAYERS THAT HAVE INDOOR GAMES THAT NIGHT AND NEED TO LEAVE BY 7pm
SEE YOU ALL THERE!
BANQUET INFORMATION
The banquet will be held at Main Street on Sunday November 18, from 5:30-7:30pm. The price is going to be $5.00 per person. We will be having spaghetti, chicken alfredo, salad, 2 desserts and refreshments. All you need is to bring your $5.00 and your appetite. We will start with the dinner and then move on with the awards ceremony. If you cannot afford the $5.00 fee, please contact me so that we can work it out. I don't ever want someone to be left out for financial reasons, we want all of you there and your kids want you to be there!
RSVP
If you can call me or email me by Monday November 12 and leave me a message stating how many from your family, including your athlete, will be at the banquet, so that I can let Main Street know, I would really appreciate it.
